Bruno Buracchini was born in Sinalunga in 1912, lived in Siena and became a Contrada member of L'Aquila, and died in 1982. The bronze monument to Santa Caterina, created in 1972, is his best-known work; the plaster model, of the same size, is preserved in the Peruzzian loggia of the Caterina sanctuary in Fontebranda, right in front of the oratory of the Crucifix.
